Wow! I can’t believe July is already over…that’s CRAZY! What’s even crazier is it’s already August. I figured since July is over, I’d share with you my favorites from this past month! I filmed a youtube video, you can watch it here, covering just my monthly favorites. In this blog post I want to share with you not only my monthly favorites, but an overview of July.
This July has been a lot of fun! I went on a beach vacation with my family to Hilton Head Island, which was beautiful and very relaxing. We got to celebrate the 4th there, it only made sense to film a "4th of July Look Book” YouTube video while at the beach. My mom and I went biking, which was a first for us while staying there. Lots of laughs! I’d definitely recommend renting bikes if you go to Hilton Head.
I got motivated to do Kayla Itiness’s “Bikini Body Guild” again. If you haven’t heard of her or her program (where have you been hiding!?! She has over 1 Million Instagram followers) it’s a 12 week program, that is pretty intense. I’ve completed it once before, but my two other tries, I'd always stop once I reached close to week 9... either due to being overly busy with school, traveling, or lack of motivation. This time it’ll be different and I hope I do finish it and complete more than 1 round. I’m currently on week 4 and love it and am still very motivated.
I got the opportunity to collaborate with Southern Shirt Company and Palm Beach Sandals, the second time for both! If you follow me on my Instagram, I’m sure you have seen me showing you the products. Both companies have been AWESOME to work with!
You might not know this about me…but when One Direction became a band, I was a massive fan (around 2010, making me 12 or 13 years old). My best friend and I were both obsessed. When we were both 16 our parents were FINALLY okay with us going to one of their concerts…there goes $400 out the window, but a memory I’ll never forget. You might be thinking Kelly…how does that have anything to do with July right about now...keep reading. The concert we went to in Chicago was One Direction with 5 Seconds of Summer as their opening act. Two years later, this July, the same best friend and myself bought tickets to see 5 Seconds of Summer. The concert was SOO much fun! Another memory I’ll never forget. In my July Favorites video, I mentioned a romper I wore to a concert and figured I'd show you pictures on here. It's an all black romper that I bought from Forever 21 (a few summers ago, sorry!) that went perfectly with my black Palm Beach Sandals!
I had a lot of great times this July. Hopefully, August will have just as many if not more! Before I wrap up this blog post I want to share with you my favorites, for those of you who haven’t seen my youtube video on it, or if you just want to see it again but a little different.
VINEYARD VINES T-SHIRT. I've had this shirt forever, but it's still a go-to for me! Its perfect for summer when you just need to get dressed quickly and go. When I buy T-Shirts out of the men's department I get it in an extra small because they run big!
JCREW LINEN PANTS (Similar). Y’all its like wearing pajama pants but they are socially acceptable and fashionable!! Not to mention how comfortable they are. These have been my go to pants so far this summer. They are the perfect material for not getting too hot in the summer but thick enough not to be see through. I did feature them in my youtube video "Palm Beach Sandals Lookbook".
JADELYNN BROOK SHORTS. I wore these on the 4th of July, and a lot of other days this past month too. They are so comfortable, the perfect "cute" athletic short! I love the color combination Navy and Pink and that's what these shorts are, making them PERFECT!
LILLY PULITZER FIREWORK SHORTS. 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays…so you better believe I wore lots of red white and blue all month long. Okay that sounds a bit obsessive... but I really did wear a lot this month and I think you’ll notice it in this Favorites post. I think they are in the print “Firework”. They are a few years old but definitely keepers!
HALTER TOP SWIMSUIT. (Couldn't find mine online, linked a similar one from J.Crew) Y'all this swimsuit neckline will make your shoulders look amazing! I was doubtful when I first saw it, thinking I wouldn't like the neckline, but I LOVE IT! I know it might be a little late in the season for some of you to be buying swimsuits but if you are looking to get one, I definitely suggest getting one with this neckline for something a little different than the traditional bikini.
PINK NIKE SHOES. As I mentioned earlier I got strongly motivated to start working out again, not that I ever stopped but just decided to get serious about it. I think having a comfortable pair of athletic shoes makes all the difference in the world! I have recently gotten into walking and jogging along with Kayla Itisnes’s Bikini Body Guild and these shoes have been perfect for that.
NIKE TANK TOP (Similar). I've been getting into running outside and wearing a tank top during my runs is the only way not to sweat to death with the summer heat.
NIKE TENNIS SKIRT (Similar). Honestly, I wish I was athletic enough to play tennis...but I've tried it and... it's not in my future. Oh well, doesn't stop me from wearing cute tennis clothes. I LOVE wearing this skirt on weekends when I have errands to run.
PANTEEN SHAMPOO AND CONDITIONER. OMG! Switching Shampoo's has been a massive game changer for me! My hair is pretty long and with the length comes tangles and knots. This shampoo has helped so much with the tangles!
WHITE OPI NAIL POLISH. This has been my go-to all summer long! I love white polish because it makes me feel tanner than I really am. Plus, it's bright and fresh, perfect for Summer!
EPIC BLEND. They sent me a package of their products back in May. I was so caught up with finishing school and starting my new job (read my recent blog post about "Where I've Been") that I didn't get to fully share how amazing their products are! I've been using them in my everyday makeup routine and am OBSESSED with their Coconut Lip Balm!
CANON G7X. This is the camera I have been using to film all my videos. I LOVE it! I really think it has amazing quality and is perfect for me especially since I’m just starting out.
LAUT IPHONE CASE. If you’ve been following me on Instagram, I’m not sure and doubt you really noticed, but I never have a case on my phone. Sure, I could agree it was out of laziness of just not buying one…but I have honestly never found a case that I really liked. I’m definitely one of those people who are constantly waiting for the new IPhone to come out. Making me feel like buying an expensive case is a waste a money ( LOL so wrong! The waste of money was not having a case and having to replace the screen after cracking it, goodbye $150). I bought the neon pink case from LAUT at Target and love it! Plus, it’s in my favorite color.
SPOTIFY. I finally caved and signed up for Premium- BEST DECISION EVER! I’ve been using Spotify for the longest time and never truly got annoyed with the ads until I started using it more than just an hour a day. There are ALOT of perks of premium i.e. offline playback, no ads, you can play any song whenever you want… All in all, I love it… I’ve been making some awesome new playlists.
