How I Edit My Instagram Pictures

Hello Blog!

I thought it would be fun to show you how I edit my Instagram pictures. I used to think people were crazy when they edited their pictures for an “Instagram Theme", but I really like how it makes all my pictures connected. Right now, I have a yellow / off-white kind of filter applied to recent pictures.  So first of all, take a picture.
 Here is the unedited picture
First, crop it into a square.
Then open the picture in Afterlight
(This is a photo editing app that costs $.99, it’s so worth it!)

In the settings, turn the brightness to 25%. Contrast to 5. Saturation -5.

I use one of the free filters in the “original” folder called “Coral” and I set it to 20%.
Lastly, I save it and post it to Instagram! Its super easy but I feel like it connects all my pictures.

Hope y’all like this! I’d love to know if you try this style out or if you want to share a specific way you edit your pictures...I'd love to hear from you. Have a great weekend and stay fabulous.

Luv ya!

10 favorites after reaching 10K on Instagram

Wow! I can’t believe my Instagram account Kellyprepster has ten thousand followers…that’s just crazy. Thank you! I thought it would be fun to share with y’all my 10 favorite things since I just reached 10K! These are not in any order but here are some of my favorite things:

 1.    Nume’s 32 millimeter curling wand. Oh-my-gosh, this is my everyday go to for my hair. I absolutely love wearing my hair down in big curls. This curling wand definitely does the trick.

2.    #GIRLBOSS by Sophia Amoruso. I just finished reading this book this weekend. It was super motivational and inspiring.

3.    NYX Doll Eye Mascara. I enjoy doing my makeup but I don’t like spending a lot of money on makeup products. I picked this up at Target for around $7 and it is just amazing. Before I started using this, I would use 3 different mascaras everyday and now I get the same results but with just one coat.

4.    Gossip Girl. Thank you Netflix for having all 6 seasons.

5.    OPI nude nail polish in the shade “My Vampire is buff”… interesting name but it’s the perfect shade. I got this as a Christmas gift and haven’t stopped wearing it since. I love it since it matches everything (I think painted nails adds that extra touch to any outfit.)

6.    Louis Vuitton Zippy Wallet. I got this as a birthday present from my parents and I was so surprised when I got it. I think Louis Vuitton is timeless and it goes great with every outfit.

7.    Sperry Penny Loafers. I bought these over the summer and just started wearing them this fall. They are just as comfortable as Sperry’s boat shoes but I think they have a more mature look to them.

8.    J.Crew’s herringbone Vest. I think vests are a fall/winter staple and this one has a fun splash of uniqueness to it.

9.    Michael Kors Watch.  I love all watches. I just think they are so classy.

10.  My huge floor mirror. I love taking outfit of the day (#OOTD) pictures for Instagram every morning, and this is a big game changer for my outfit pictures. I got it at HomeGoods for only $60, such a deal.

Preppy Stickers

Over the summer I really got into collecting stickers. I mean they are so much fun to put on almost anything: laptops, water bottles, and your car. The best part about collecting stickers is most companies will send you them for free without buying any of their products.
To get stickers all you have to do is email the company. Usually, if you go to a companies website there is contact information and within that there should be an email.
When I emailed the company, in the subject line of the email I would just write “promotional stickers”. In my email I would just write something along the lines of “Hello, my name is Kelly. I love your company and would love to get some free promotional stickers to use on my Instagram and laptop. Thank you.”
Obviously, yours might be a little different since not everyone is named Kelly! LOL.
Some companies website’s have sticker request forms on their website, where you don’t even have to email them… you just sign up for them on their website.
It takes most companies a few days to get back to your email. It’ll take a while for your stickers to come in the mail, just remember they are sending them to you for free so don’t complain! :) I always like to send them a thank you email or shout out on Instagram once I receive the stickers just to show thanks. Then you get to put them wherever you want!

Companies that have sent me free stickers:
Port Royal Outfitters
Jadelynn Brooke
Southern Lure
Southern Marsh
Marley Lilly
Southern Tide
Duck Head
Three Island
Half-moon Outfiters
Brewers Lantern
Sperry Top-Siders
Southern Proper
Yeti
GoPro
The Lucky Knot
Patagonia
Summer Ties
Costal Provisions
Vineyard Vines
